Everyday observing · recommended.
Reloads the sky, keeping your view.
Saved on this device · your 7 most recent tours.
Choose two objects you can identify in the real camera image, then freeze one frame. Their spacing measures your lens, independently of the compass.
The frame stays on this device and is discarded when you finish or cancel.
Tap each object’s centre in the frozen image, not a nearby light. Use Undo to correct a tap.
Six or more stars, a matched lens and an approximate heading. Searches within 12° of phone-follow; no photo upload.
Hold still, then scan a frame.
Experimental until field-tested. Lens distortion, clouds and artificial lights can prevent a match. Check another object after applying.
Catalogue match from pointing direction, not camera recognition.
Off · original camera brightness.
Based on the Sun at your site, not camera exposure. Drag for manual adjustment.
AR presets leave your normal map settings unchanged. Live aircraft stays on your existing layer setting.
Centre the real object on the crosshair, not its overlay label. Then measure the error.
Allow camera and motion access to follow your phone, or drag the sky manually.

Finding a suitable reference…
Only references above your local horizon and away from the Sun are offered.
Centre the real reference on the crosshair, then tap Align. For the Sun, use the separate filtered-camera option below.
Daytime · align with the Sun
Use a proper solar filter securely fitted over the phone camera lens and view only the screen. Never look directly at the Sun or through unfiltered optics.
Solar camera safety ↗Enable Follow phone to align. One reference does not calibrate the lens.
Requires live sky, fresh motion and reference alignment.
Frames are analysed only on this device while you use visual lock. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
Lens & sky display
75° is a starting estimate, not a detected lens specification.
Only lens settings are saved in this browser, never alignment or camera frames.
Outdoor display
Lower power updates the overlay position up to 15 times per second instead of 30. The camera and sky renderer still run; battery use varies by phone.
Screen sleep follows your phone settings.
Use the sun icon beside Align to toggle screen wake lock. It releases when AR stops.
After a few seconds with the drawer closed, tap the sky to reveal controls without pausing tracking.
